When I was a little girl, I spent hours in the kitchen with my grandmother learning to bake crescent rolls, Kolache, Pierogi dough, and many other things. Using this very bread board shown to roll out the dough and the ceramic bowl pictured to mix it, a tradition of family baking was passed down through generations.
My Dad, the career chemist, also enjoyed baking artisan bread and cookies in our home. Often, I would wake up on a Saturday morning to the smell of fresh bread baking in the oven. As children (and even now as adults), we baked hundreds of homemade cookies every year to give to friends, neighbors, and teachers. It was a day-long event filled with as many measuring cups, spoons, and bowls as we could find. There were fingers caught in mixer beaters, burns on fingers and arms, and many a broken egg, but no less love and memories made in those kitchens.
Now, as an adult, I want to share this love of baked goods with everyone. Flavors evoke memories, and hand-crafted baked goods bring joy. I'm happy to be your bread and cookie lady as long as you'll have me!
